Reinsurer in the Southeast has a need for a Financial Actuary. The incumbent will be responsible for the management of those individuals assigned with profitability managing life blocks of business assigned and for developing management reports periodically. The responsibilities of the position will include: managing and providing direction to staff assigned the responsibilities of coordinating the assembly and review of the periodic financial reporting packages, establishing actuarial accruals, recommending corrective actions and preparing an operational and financial analysis of the assigned market categories, providing direction in the development of the required financial models for each market category, ensuring that oversight on client reporting is occurring among the Operational, Accounting and Actuarial departments, working with direct reports so that client contact is occurring on a basis that encourages relationships for the purpose of understanding emerging issues of the client and providing marketing visibility, working with Managing Actuaries to develop a risk profile on each assigned business segment for the purpose of initiating procedures, serving as the primary contact with public auditors on all life treaties, providing a summary of financial and operational results to senior management at least on a quarterly basis, coordinating the assembly of the various management reports required by senior management to satisfy either regulatory bodies, rating agencies, risk management committee or board of directors. (this would currently include Asset Adequacy Analysis, Market Consistent Embedded Value and the company's Capital Model) This role will serve as the technical resource to the organization. Candidates should have at least 12 years of actuarial experience in the life insurance or consulting business with a minimum 3 years of management experience.
