Consulting firm looking for experienced Healthcare consulting actuary. Actuary will create analysis tools to be leveraged by all health actuaries. Function as lead consultant and/or lead actuary for several large annuity clients. Spearhead technical contributions to client/promotional activity, interacting with S&A and senior consultants to respond to bid situations. Take lead responsibility for all financial calculations for key clients. Leverage work to multiple group actuarial resources. Interact with other lines of business on key issues affecting many clients (e.g., FAS 106 claim costing assumptions with RFM LOB, HRO team). Manage or mentor several associates. Formulate standards of practice for financial analysis with health care vendors and HMOs. Support Client Development for medium and large clients. Contribute to intellectual capital of the firm by developing and sharing tools, new approaches, and best practices. Possible involvement with HHVI, RFPs (medical, dental, life, etc), FAS 106 Development, IBNP, HRO rate delivery, Medicare Part D Attestations and M&A projects. Contribute knowledge to internal initiatives (e.g., training, model development, etc). Develop client, people, business, and/or thought leadership skills and exposure. Sign Actuarial Opinions and lead analysis behind them, if qualified. Ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics. FSA for 3+ years (or career ASA). MAAA Certified and meets the AAA qualification standards as a Health Actuary. 12-15 years actuarial work experience. 10-15 years or heath care consulting experience.
